Anti-beta2-Glycoprotein I Antibody

A positive anti-b2GPI is very specific for APS.

To improve sensitivity and to aid interpretation of results HAPS recommends testing anti-b2GPI in addition to anticardiolipin antibody (aCL) and lupus inhibitor (also called Lupus Anticoagulant, LA).


QuantiFERONŽ-TB Gold Assessment of Tuberculosis Exposure

The traditional method for demonstrating tuberculosis sensitization, the tuberculin skin test or "Mantoux" test, is increasingly being replaced by the TB Gold in-vitro blood test method.

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is among an array of autoimmune diseases. These conditions involve "immune confusion", where body parts are targeted for attack by the immune system. After cancer and heart disease, the third largest cause of illness & death in the community is autoimmunity, which includes type-I diabetes, coeliac disease, thyroid disease, and lupus (SLE).


New Services at Belmont Hospital
